Appeals Board

The Appeals Board hears appeals of decisions made by the Code Enforcement Officer and the Planning Board. The Board also considers variance requests and administrative appeals under Hartford’s land use ordinances. Meetings are scheduled as needed.

Budget Committee

The Budget Committee reviews the proposed municipal budget and makes recommendations to voters at the Annual Town Meeting. The committee works with the Select Board and department heads to evaluate spending requests and ensure fiscal responsibility.

Comprehensive Plan Committee

The Comprehensive Plan Committee guides Hartford’s long-range planning efforts. The town’s 2008 Comprehensive Plan was repealed at the June 2025 Town Meeting. A new comprehensive planning process is currently underway to develop an updated plan that reflects Hartford’s current needs and future goals.

Ordinance Committee

The Ordinance Committee reviews and drafts local ordinances for consideration by the Select Board and Town Meeting. The committee ensures that proposed ordinances comply with state law and serve the interests of Hartford residents. See the current town ordinances for adopted ordinances.

Planning Board

The Planning Board meets on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Town Office. The Board reviews and approves subdivision applications, site plan reviews, and other land use matters as required by Hartford’s ordinances.
