Hartford’s town maps include assessor parcel maps, the shoreland zoning map, and a collection of historical maps documenting the town’s development.
Assessor Maps
Hartford’s assessor maps are maintained by JE O’Donnell and Associates. These maps show property boundaries, lot numbers, and acreage for all parcels in town.
Shoreland Zoning Map
The Hartford Shoreland Zoning Map identifies areas within 250 feet of great ponds, rivers, and freshwater wetlands where the Shoreland Zoning Ordinance applies. A copy of the shoreland zoning map is available at the Town Office and in the documents library.
Historical Maps
Hartford has a rich cartographic history. The following historical maps are available for viewing:
1798 Town Map
The original 1798 map of Hartford shows the earliest land divisions and settlement patterns in the town. This map dates to Hartford’s incorporation and provides a valuable record of the town’s founding.
1880 Maps
Maps from 1880 show Hartford during the height of its agricultural period, including village centers, schoolhouse locations, roads, and property owners of the era.
